Frequently Asked Continuing Education
If you are not sure whether you have completed your CE for renewal, you can check your continuing education completion status by calling the MREC at (573) 751-2628 or visiting their website and following the directions below.
- Go to: https://pr.mo.gov/realestate-licensee-search.asp
- Leave the field titled “Profession Name” set to “All”
- Select “Licensee Name”
- Enter in your name as “Last, First”
- Click on “Search”
- Choose your record from the list and click on “Detail”
- Under your licensee information will be listed “Continuing Education Information.” Each CE course that you have completed will be listed. You need 12 credit hours with at least one course listed as a “Core” course
PLEASE NOTE: If your record says, “You have not authorized CE information to be posted,” at some point you chose to not publicly share your CE information on the MREC website so you will have to call the commission at the number listed above to get that information. You can change this by downloading a CE Consent form, by clicking where it says “Please print this form…” and mailing it to the MREC.
ALSO NOTE: It can take 10-15 days for your completed CE to appear on the MREC website.
When you take online CE courses, you may be asked to provide your real estate licensee number or social security number. We do not recommend sharing your social security number. If you are not sure what your licensee number is, you can look it up by following the directions below.
- Go to: https://renew.pr.mo.gov/realestate-licensee-search.asp
- Leave the field titled “Profession Name” set to “All”
- Select “Licensee Name”
- Enter in your name as “Last, First”
- Click on “Search”
- Choose your record from the list and click on “Detail”
- In the lined box under your name and address information will be listed your licensee number
- DO NOT MISTAKE YOUR BROKER’S LICENSE NUMBER FOR YOUR LICENSE NUMBER, WHICH IS ALSO LISTED ON YOUR PAGE
The deadline for renewal of salespersons’ licenses is September 30th of even numbered years (2022, 2024, 2026, etc.) and for brokers’ licenses the deadline is June 30th of even numbered years (2022, 2024, 2026, etc.).
Unless your paper renewal form that you receive from the MREC specifically requests that you send in your CE certificates, you only need to keep them for your records. Always keep copies of your CE certificates in a safe place. If you have misplaced your certificates, there is a $10 charge for replacement of each certificate and it may take up to 2 weeks to receive the replacement. If your CE courses are completed in the last 10 days before your expiration date, there is no guarantee that your courses will be uploaded to your record in time for the online renewal option; therefore, you will have to mail in a paper renewal with copies of your course certificates.
The 2 year license cycle for salesperson licensees begins Oct. 1st of each even numbered year and ends Sept. 30th of the following even numbered year. The 2 year license cycle for broker licensees begins July 1st of each even numbered year and ends June 30th of the following even numbered year.
The Missouri Real Estate
Commission (MREC) requires 12 hours of approved continuing education. The MREC’s requirements for “Core” courses sometimes change, but our course bundles will always include everything you need to renew. Typically, if you include at least one 3-hour course marked as “Core” and one 3-hour “Ethics” course along with 6-hours of electives, you will meet all requirements. If you are a member of a REALTOR® board, we ensure that all of our ethics course options will meet both your MREC and NAR ethics requirements. Submit your ethics course certificate to your REALTOR® board to receive credit.
